James Grayley Architects

The practice has a reputation for delivering highly crafted and conceptually clear architecture through a professional work ethic. Drawing on a rich knowledge, we employ clear thinking, and through establishing strong and collaborative professional relationships, we work with our clients to create intellectually rigorous and sensitive projects.

In a short space of time we have developed a strong reputation for the quality of both our architecture and the client-focused service we provide. We have delivered a number of projects for repeat clients in both the private and commercial sectors, and have delivered projects for The London Development Agency, Design for London and The Greater London Authority. We specialise in working in sensitive sites, and through the establishment of clear intellectual rigour we have delivered projects in the most difficult of contexts, including work to listed buildings, in Conservation Areas, in Areas of Special Scientific Interest and in UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

Our architecture evolves from observation and explores ideas of context that embed our buildings in the culture of their place, making work that is informed by history but is original and contemporary. Our projects investigate the physical and emotional potential of materials and construction in the context of everyday life.
