Refurbishment & Extension of a Family Home in Kent
The project involves the partial demolition, extension and complete remodelling of a twentieth century house in Tunbridge Wells to create a highly crafted sustainable family home. The renewed house is engages in the local vernacular craft of building using the traditional materials and techniques of the existing house but detailed in a contemporary manor to create a clear hierarchy between the original modest structure and the new extended areas of the dwelling.
The house is designed to be passive, implementing green technologies and exploiting its location, through design, to reduce the reliance on fossil fuels.
The house is currently being developed towards construction and due for completion in 2017.
