Widcombe Pool House

Private Client , Bath, 2019

A new pool house built into the remains of a former farm building in North Somerset

The pool house is built into the remains of a former farm building on a large estate in North Somerset. The surviving, robust but crumbling rubble stone walls are repaired and left standing with a lightweight contemporary timber frame building built within their confines.

The new building seeks to build on a tradition of small buildings within formal gardens in the area, creating a grotto type space within the garden.

The new building will create ancillary accommodation to be used in conjunction with the outdoor pool along with outdoor living spaces within the wider landscape.
